Our history
In the north of The Pays Beaujolais where the Crus make their home, the Cave des Producteurs de Juliénas was created in 1960 by 83 vinegrowers who joined forces to vinify the grapes from 94 hectares of vineyards on 5 different communes. The Cave is housed in an old XVIII century priory called Château du Bois de la Salle.
It was built by Charrier de la Roche, Napoleon I's, first chaplain. Today there are around one hundred vinegrower members and 7 employees who look after the day to day running. When you arrive on site you will see the wonderful architecture of our buildings where modernity, with the glass front of our winery blends perfectly with the nobility of the Château itself.
This combination of tradition with modernity runs through to the way we make out wines. In traditional Beaujolais vinification the whole bunches of grapes are left to macerate for several days in the vat before being pressed. For modernity we have unique up to the minute equipment which is our tool to produce authentic wines with style to seduce your taste buds.
